Positions on the LNGA Membership Committee
Chairperson: Presides over and runs meetings in an orderly fashion, sets meeting agenda, works directly with the Hunters Pointe Executive to carry out decisions of the Committee, acts as spokesperson for the Committee, produces a monthly statement to the membership on the activities of the Committee.
Past Chairperson: Advise current Chairperson on management of the Committee.
Vice-Chairperson: Assumes the role of the Chairperson when the Chairperson is absent from meetings and assists the Chairperson in developing and carrying out the decisions of the Committee.
Secretary: Responsible for taking and revising meeting minutes, presenting past minutes to the Committee when in session, and documenting and publishing Committee decisions.
Treasurer: Responsible for reporting the fiscal picture of the Committee and managing Committee funds.
Men’s and Ladies Golf Event Chairs: Proposes a vision and direction of member golf events to the Committee and carries out the decisions and vision of the Committee on the event day. Approves and signs event proposals with Hunters Pointe Executive in a timely fashion.
Men’s and Ladies League Chairs: Proposes a vision and direction of member leagues to the Committee and carries out the decisions and vision of the Committee on league day. Approves and signs league proposals with Hunters Pointe Executive in a timely fashion.
Social Event Chair: Proposes a vision and direction of member social events to the Committee and carries out the decisions and vision of the Committee on event day. Approves and signs event proposals with Hunters Pointe Executive in a timely fashion.

By-Laws of the Hunters Pointe Golf Association Membership Committee
1. Name1.1. The name of the organization/agency/group shall be Hunters Pointe Golf Association Membership Committee
2. Membership Committee
2.1. The Membership Committee shall serve without pay
2.2. The Membership Committee will consist of 10 Member Elected Representatives.
2.3. Vacancies shall be filled by the Committee, with the recommendation of the Chairperson
2.4. Members with 5 absences without reason shall be dismissed from the Committee.
2.6. There is no term limit for any position on the Membership Committee. Members can run for the same or different positions on the Membership Committee in consecutive years.
2.7. The member who holds the Chairman position on the Committee in any given year will automatically be granted a seat on the Committee as ‘Past Chairman' in the following year, if not elected back to the Membership Committee as Chairman.
3. Officers
3.1. The Committee shall consist of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Past-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Men's Golf Event Chair, Ladies Golf Event Chair, Men's League Chair, Ladies League Chair, and Social Event Chair who are nominated and elected by the Membership of Hunters Pointe.
3.2. Elected Committee Members will serve a term of one year.
3.3 Officers of the Membership Committee must be a member in good standing at the time of election and remain in good standing for the duration of their term.
4. Committees
4.1. The Committee may appoint standing and ad hoc subcommittees as volunteers for LNGA Events as needed.
5. Meetings
5.1. All meetings shall be arranged by the Chairperson of the Hunters Pointe Golf Association
5.2. All Committee Members will be notified of Committee meetings 1 week in advance.
6. Agendas
6.1. An Agenda shall be provided by the Chairperson for each meeting.
7. Voting
7.1. A majority of the Committee Members constitutes a quorum. In absence of a quorum, no formal action shall be taken except to adjourn the meeting to a subsequent date.
7.2. Passage of a motion requires a simple majority (ie, one more than half the members present).
7.3 When a vote is held and a decision is made, the Secretary must document all decisions and submit them to the Hunters Pointe Executive to be signed or vetoed before being published.
8. Conflict of Interest
8.1. Any member of the Committee who has a personal, or official interest in, or conflict (or appearance of a conflict) with any matter pending before the Committee, of such nature that it prevents or may prevent that member from acting on the matter in an impartial manner, will offer to the Committee to voluntarily excuse him/herself and will vacate his seat and refrain from discussion and voting on said item.
9. Fiscal Policies
9.1. The fiscal year of the Committee shall be from January 1st – December 31st of each year.
10. Amendments
10.1.These by-laws may be amended by a two-third vote of Committee Members present at any meeting.
11. Veto
11.1 Hunters Pointe Ownership holds power of Veto over all Committee Decisions and By-Law Amendments.
12. Nominations & Elections
12.1 Nominations for Committee seats must be submitted in writing to the Membership Committee no later than November 1st of the current term year.
12.2 The Committee is responsible for organizing and hosting a democratic election that produces a new Committee according to these by-laws before December 15th of the current term year.
12.3 Each Membership Committee will serve from January 1st to December 31st of the term year.
LNGA Handicap Committee
The Handicap Committee was developed by the LNGA Membership Committee in order to maintain the integrity and fairness of all members’ handicaps. It was designed to create fair and equitable competition in all events/leagues for members and their guests within the Club.Role of the LNGA Handicap Committee
1. To ensure education exists for equitable stroke control, and establish a schedule of “T” tournament rounds so thatall members know when/how to implement these procedures.
2. To review the results of all member events/leagues and take appropriate action if score entries are incorrect.
3. To determine the amount of adjustment and post penalty scores for players who do not input/incorrectly input their
scores into the handicap computer.
4. To disqualify members and their guests from competition based on handicap infractions.
All handicap discretions are subject to Committee review. If a member is under review by the Committee, their handicap will be frozen and they will be prohibited from event/league play until a decision is rendered by the Committee.
